Our University Sports Centre is a great facility for people of all abilities and levels of fitness. And being right next to our Canterbury Campus, it's easy to get to when you want a break from studying.
Our modern Sports Centre and gym has something for everyone. Whether you’re serious about training and competing, or just want to be more active and get a little fitter, our Sports Centre has loads to offer.
Highlights include our interactive spin studio, a wide exercise class programme, modern gym, climbing wall and double sports hall. Our fitness coaches are always happy to help and guide you through your workout.
And we're not the only ones who think it's a great facility. It's been used for important sporting events over the last 10 years including the 2017 Kent Rhythmic Gymnastics Competition and as a pre-Olympic training facility for London 2012, specialising in basketball, badminton and fencing.

Whether you’re not sure how to use the gym equipment, recovering from an injury, or training for a specific event, our personal trainers are able to create a custom-made training programme to meet your fitness goals. Personal training is provided at the centre at times to suit you.
We have flexible sports hall in the Sports Centre each with viewing galleries. The sports hall is bookable and often used for both causal team sports and competitive training sessions for our sports societies. A climbing wall is also available to students and staff in our sports hall.
You can also use the climate controlled, 35 station fitness suite with a comprehensive range of cardiovascular and resistance equipment as well as a free-weights area. The gym features state-of-the-art fitness equipment, enabling you to access the internet, watch live television and monitor your pulse rate and calories burned, all from the machines’ displays.
This 14-bike spin studio offers the latest interactive technology. Whether you want to tone-up, raise your fitness level or improve your strength and stamina, we have a variety of fitness and exercise classes to help you achieve your goal in a friendly environment. Classes are generally held in our fitness studio at the Christ Church Sports Centre, with timetabled activities each day, including Zumba, Yoga, Spin and more.
