Our engineering facilities will allow you to unlock your potential and build technical expertise, so you can become a highly-skilled, work-ready engineering graduate. Researchers will appreciate the range of advanced facilities and the opportunities for collaborative working this amazing building provides.

The Verena Holmes Building

The latest addition to our campus is this incredible building that includes a full set of engineering labs, to aid the study of our engineering students.

Check out a couple examples of our facilities with the drone footage and virtual tours below.

Engineering workshop

The brand new Verena Holmes Building, opened in January 2021, has created new spaces and facilities for engineering students, as well as being home to facilities for health, sport, technology and medicine.

Mechatronics lab

We are living in an age of rapid technological change where so much of what affects our lives has been engineered. You will have access to more facilities than ever, including the brand new mechatronics lab.

Makerspace

Within the brand new Verena Holmes Building, each internal courtyard space will become an open plan interactive workshop ‘Makerspace’ for collaborative learning and experimentation. These courtyards will become integral to the natural ventilation strategy, allowing the building to be more sustainable.

Mechanical Physics lab

You will develop practical problem-solving approach through active learning laboratories, engineering laboratories and the use of engineering workshops and makerspace.
