Our award-winning city library Augustine House is home to vast range of learning resources and it's also where you can find our helpful student support teams. Our staff can support you if you need help with finances, emotional or study support, want advice on careers or to look for part-time work.
Augustine House is right in the city centre and is just a few minutes' walk from our main campus.
Our library covers four floors with a range of learning spaces to support collaborative learning, group study work or quiet individual study. There are also seven group study rooms which students can book online. There are also over 300 PCs throughout the building.
The upper floors of the library also offer stunning views over the city, including Canterbury Cathedral.
Augustine House has plenty of breakout spaces for those moments between your study and research. It has a great cafe with snacks and drinks and the whole building is fully wif-fi enabled.
Our award-winning building takes advantage of the natural stable temperature in the earth, using the 258 structural piles as geothermal energy sources, providing over 20% of the building’s energy. Carbon emissions have been reduced by 23%.
Augustine House won the Best Educational Project category at the LABC (Local Authority Building Control) Awards for the South East region and the prestigious Society of College, National and University Libraries (SCONUL) Design Award.
