It is easy to see why so many international students choose Canterbury Christ Church University. With a diverse and vibrant community of students from over 80 countries, we are small enough to be a family yet big enough to have global impact.
Our campuses are located in unique places. Canterbury – a World Heritage Site famous for its Cathedral and history, and Medway - next to the world-famous Chatham Dockyard.
We are at the gateway to Europe, and less than an hour from central London.
We pride ourselves on outstanding teaching for which we have been given the prestigious Silver award in the Teaching Excellence Framework.
We are also constantly upgrading our facilities to give our students contemporary learning and research spaces.
As a destination for study, Canterbury is hard to beat. Find out more about the historic city and all it has to offer on our Canterbury page.
Medway is made up of several distinctive towns, all steeped in history and a stone's throw from London. Find out about our Medway campus.
Our specialist advisers can provide advice and support to help you settle into university life.
They can help with anything that is worrying you outside of your studies. Our International Partnerships and Development Office is here to help you feel happy and settled in your new home.
Student life in Canterbury and Medway is thriving. There is a real sense of community and plenty of opportunities for you to get involved and make the most of your university experience. We have over 70 societies ranging from arts and crafts, to media, sports, culture and even food (check out our international food fayre vlog below!).
Through these societies you can get actively involved – become part of a sports team or drama group and indulge your passions!
Our student union is also very active and is here to empower you throughout your Canterbury Christ Church University journey. They can offer free advice on academic issues, money, housing or personal matters – whether it’s a significant problem you need support with, or simply advice on where to get the best sandwich in town! They can also connect you with other students or groups to ensure you never need to feel alone.
If you are moving to the UK from your home country for the first time we want to make sure that you feel comfortable, safe, secure and have access to everything you need. With this in mind, our dedicated accommodation team is here to help you find the right place, and ensure that whatever your personal requirements – such as a disability – you are fully supported.
As an international student we guarantee you University accommodation for your first year of study (if you are undertaking an undergraduate or postgraduate course), if you formally accept a place with us and apply for accommodation by 31 July.
