The University is recognised by Sport England’s Talented Athlete Scholarship Scheme (TASS) as a Dual Career Accredited Site.

This acknowledges a commitment and element of academic flexibility, allowing talented student-athletes to balance their studies alongside a sporting schedule.

What do you get?

Depending on your athletic level, you will receive:

  • £500 – performance level
  • £750-£1,500 – elite level.

You will also receive:

  • Sport science/strength and conditioning support
  • Complimentary gym membership
  • Access to sports therapy and rehabilitation
  • Mentor support
  • Scholar sport kit
  • Sports scholar awards.

Who is this for?

Scholars must compete at one of the following levels:

  • Performance – demonstrates success at a county/regional level
  • Elite – demonstrates success at a national level or above.

Current and prospective students are encouraged to apply.

How do you apply?

Simply fill out this form to apply for the Sport Scholarship. All applications need two references.

Application windows for 2025:

Window 1 – Monday 13 Jan – Friday 28 March 2025
Window 2 – Monday 14 April – Friday 13 June 2025
Window 3 – Monday 7 July – Friday 5 September 2025

What do you need to know?

All sports scholars are required to engage with the program via a number of methods. These include:

  • Represent CCCU in BUCS, Varsity, or other University competition
  • Hold a CCCU Student Sport Club Committee position
  • Support other CCCU students in an official CCCU coach position
  • Represent CCCU as an Ambassador at events, Open Days, or meetings
  • Engage fully with SportsLab workshops
  • Consistent social media postings.
