If you’re a parent in need of financial support with childcare costs, then you can get £2,000 from the government for each academic year.

What do you get?

You will receive cover for £2,000 of childcare costs per academic year.

Who is this for?

You will receive this support if you are:

  • On a full-time pre-registration healthcare course
  • A parent with a child under the age of 15 OR under the age of 17 if they are registered with an SEN status.

How do you apply?

Apply via the NHS website. When applying for the Training Grant, you will be able to apply for parental support at the same time.

You will be required to upload a picture of your child's birth certificate or passport when applying.

Please note that you must re-apply each academic year.

When will you be paid?

You will be paid through three instalments over the academic year. You can check your scheduled payments dates on your NHS LSF account.
