Canterbury Christ Church was the obvious choice for me, having met the tutors at the end of my DTLLS course I knew I was going to be learning from an inspirational team. The course was convenient and fitted in with both my home life and my working demands.
I have become a much more confident person in my professional role. Studying has increased my knowledge of relevant subjects and given me the confidence to progress in my institution.
The tutors are always there! Whenever I needed a chat or tutorial to discuss my current work or any problems I was experiencing, they were always at the end of a phone or computer.
Having this qualification is a stepping-stone to achieving my goal of becoming a head teacher. I am looking at enrolling on the Masters course or the Headship programme, both of which cannot be done without achieving the degree first.
It is the best thing I have ever done, not only for my own personal growth but also for my future career prospects. I thoroughly enjoyed myself during the two years, too. Engaging with other likeminded students/ teachers and having the opportunity to delve into the history of education and put myself on paper has been fun, exhausting and soul searching at times but the sense of accomplishment is second to none.
