What is Clearing?

Clearing is the period in which UCAS works together with universities to help fill any available places they may have. You are eligible to apply for a course through Clearing if you:

  • Gained the exact or better grades than required, but want to go to a different university
  • Didn't meet the conditions required
  • Weren't made any offers
  • Declined your offers
  • Submitted your UCAS application after 30 June 2022

Clearing also gives people who may not have thought about going to university the opportunity to apply.

  • Thu 18 Aug (A-Level Results Day) – 8am to 8pm
  • Fri 19 Aug – 8am to 7pm
  • Sat 20 Aug – 10am to 4pm
  • Sun 21 Aug – 10am to 2pm
