Why choose Christ Church?

You'll be prepared for your future career

All our courses have work-related experience built into the curriculum, which includes input from employers and professional bodies.

I was inspired to study radiography after breaking my arm and getting an X-ray myself. I started to look around at different universities and booked on to an open day for Christ Church - I felt at home straight away. I am learning so much and experiencing something new every day on placement.”

Luckily Christ Church gave me a chance - they saw the potential in me based on my life experience and the skills I learnt in the marines. I’m extremely grateful for the Clearing process for giving me an opportunity.”

Clearing student John

I decided to make a change and follow my dream and make a career in the field of cyber security. It’s never too late – this was one of my best decisions I have ever made. University fits well around my work, study and family life – it’s even motivated my children to study hard and fulfil their dreams.”

Or, if you’ve already applied for a subject but now you’ve changed your mind, that’s ok! Using the Clearing process, you could swap it for the course you really want to study.

Clearing student Rachel

I got my A-Level results and I was talking to my friend who made me realise that business just wasn’t for me. I took the leap of faith to try and become a vet. I applied to study Animal Science through Clearing - it was the best decision I’ve ever made. Going on from my degree at Christ Church, I am going to Croatia to get my qualification to become a veterinarian surgeon.”

You will feel valued and supported

When you start your new student life at Christ Church, our specialist advisers can provide advice and support about anything. All new students can request a student mentor who will be your first point of contact and a warm welcome into our community.

Clearing student Polly

I’ve never felt more supported. When I was at school, I was told I’d never be able to go to university. But I didn’t let this, or my dyslexia, stop me. Since being at university, I’ve gained so much more confidence. I have a specialist dyslexia tutor to support my studies and I work as an ambassador, sharing my story and telling other young people that they can achieve anything!”

Since starting university people have noticed my change in confidence. I was working in a job that I didn't enjoy so I made the decision to call the Clearing line at Christ Church. I got accepted straight away. I feel so fortunate I called that day.”
