A self-guided tour allows you to visit our Canterbury Campus outside of normal campus tours and open days, at a time convenient to you.

Coronavirus update

At present we cannot offer self-guided tours of our Canterbury campus.

We are monitoring the situation closely and are following the official advice from Public Health England and the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, as well as guidance from the Department for Education and Universities UK.

Getting started

If you would like to take part in a self-guided tour, please make your way to the main reception in The Old Sessions House on the Canterbury Campus and collect a pack and self-guided tour brochure.

We recommend visiting during weekday office hours (9am to 5pm). Outside of these hours you may be unable to access several areas of the University.

It is not possible to arrange to meet staff from academic departments or view university accommodation during these visits. To do this, you will need to attend an open day or, once you have applied to the University and been offered a place, attend a visit day.

Please note that there is no parking available on campus. If you are planning to drive to the University, you should visit Canterbury City Council's online guide to parking in the city and its Park and Ride service.

Public transport

Canterbury is supported by excellent transport links, including two train stations and a bus and coach terminal. To help visitors plan their visits, the University has created a downloadable PDF Guide to the Canterbury Campus and city centre.

There are a number of places to eat and drink on the campus:

  • The Food Court is open during office hours in the week, and between 10:30-18:00 on a Saturday.
  • The Touchdown Café is open during office hours in the week and between 08:00-14:00 on a Saturday.

Please note that opening times are subject to change during non-term times.
