Accommodation Internet Access

There are several ways that you can use to connect to the internet in your University managed accommodation.

For most users, eduroam is our recommended service – you can connect quickly and easily in just a few simple steps. However, if you are using a games console or a smart TV, you should connect wirelessly via our ResNET service.

Connect via eduroam

This service is recommended for laptops, tablets, computers and mobile phones. To be able to connect you will need your computing account username and password.

If you have a device that is not compatible with eduroam, you should instead connect via our ResNET service. To do this, you will need to register devices such as:

Games consoles - e.g. Xbox, Playstation
Smart TVs, - e.g. Samsung Smart Hub via TV or Bluray player
Streaming media devices - e.g. Chromecast or Amazon Fire or Apple TV

Gaming Service: If you register a games console via ResNET you will automatically be added to the gaming service.  If you game on a PC, laptop or Mac and wish to have your device added to the gaming service, please contact the IT Hub who wil be happy to help:

You should never share your CCCU computing account password with anyone. If you have visitors to your accommodation, they can connect to the internet using our visitor service WiFiGuest.
