I joined CCCU in 2011 as a Sessional Lecturer for Tourism and Events Management and short term Research Assistant for the Centre for Sport, Physical Education and Activity Research (SPEAR); two years later I joined the Departmental team permanently as a part time Systems Administrator/Sessional Lecturer. Since a significant Professional Services restructure in September 2015 I have occupied the role of School Business Manager for the School of Human and Life Sciences (the result of a merger between the former Department of Sport Science, Tourism and Leisure and the Department of Geographical and Life Sciences).
My role includes (but is not limited to) line management of all non-academic programmes staff across three individual Sections within the School (excluding Lab technicians), business development (including national and international opportunities) and evaluation of business needs/requirements and providing a leadership function in helping to set the strategic direction of the School’s administrative function across programmes, finance, research, health and safety and secretarial support. In addition I am presently involved with the CCPIP – participating in talks, discussions and focus groups to look at the appropriateness and efficacy of University wide administrative processes and functions.
