Judith has a Diploma in Management Science, MSc Business Administration, Certificate in Education.
Judith's background is as a hands-on manager in the Hospitality Industry and whilst with the Hotel and Restaurant Trade Association, she worked with small businesses in the industry.
Her role in the Business School is now as Entrepreneurship Programme Director, administering the programme and developing future teaching provision in this area and, increasingly across the University. Judith was awarded an NCGE Entrepreneurship Educator Fellow in June 08
Research and knowledge exchange
Her major research interests include the development of Entrepreneurship Education in the Higher Education Sector and the development and dissemination of best practice. Her current work in progress includes an evaluation of the student experience of entrepreneurship activity and programmes in HE and the impacts of Education policy on this provision in the next few years.
Currently, she is involved in several of the extra curricular activities run within the Business School to help develop the practical management skills sets for students. Namely, the FLUX challenge for 2nd year students, the IBM Universities Business Challenge annual competition and the exchange activities with the Fontys Business School in the Netherlands.
She is Lead Academic on the Knowledge Transfer Partnership that is currently underway with a Small Local Business.
Teaching and subject expertise
Judith lectures primarily in the area of Entrepreneurship, Enterprise and Innovation. However, she also has significant teaching experience in the area of HRM, leadership and management.
June 2008 'Entrepreneurship Education – Making it Happen' Co-organised with the University of Brighton HEEG sponsored conference for Entrepreneurship Educators in the SEEDA region. Best Practice workshops.
