I am the Business School lead on degree apprenticeships, including the Chartered Manager Degree Apprenticeship (CMDA) and the Senior Leaders Management Degree Apprenticeship (SLMDA). I am also Programme Director for the CMDA, which provides me with day-to-day contact with our apprentices, their employers, workplace mentors and lecturers. Together we aim to provide our apprentices, who are in full time employment, opportunities to excel both at work and at study.
Prior to joining the Business School in 2015, I was a Senior Lecturer and Programme Director for the HE Business programmes at Bromley College of Further and Higher Education. I came back to academia as a "second career", after years of self employment as a market research consultant. Over the years I developed strong client relationships and research expertise in consumer behaviour, new product development and customer satisfaction. All of this experience contributes to my programme leadership and teaching practice.
Research and knowledge exchange
My research interests are centred on work-related learning. I am especially interested in the role of the workplace mentor on individual apprentice engagement and achievement.
Teaching and subject expertise
My teaching is in research methods, study skills and marketing, with specific expertise in individual research project development (UG and PGT) and study and research skills for those returning to study.
I am a governor at the Norton Knatchbull School, sitting on the Education Committee. I am also a tutor for the Research Academy, supporting individual students as they prepare for Market Research Society cdertification.
