"Working as an intern for the Politics and IR department was a very rewarding experience. As a part of my internship not only did I research Brexit and its effects on SMEs and Rural Economy in Kent & Medway specifically, but also got to organise meetings, write invitations and formal emails. While the research side of the internship was strongly supported by what we had been taught in class, the organisational side of the internship, such as writing formal invitations, is something one can only really learn through practise. I was able to gain new skills and to develop already existing skills, such as report writing and critical thinking, all of which I will need in the future after the completion of my MSc in European Politics. I believe the experience will prove highly beneficial in any career path a Politics and IR graduate would pursue.”
