As a mature student, I had no idea what to expect from CCCU when I returned to education a number of years after leaving school. I only knew that through an Access course I had discovered a passion for Politics and Sociology and I was eager to learn more. The Undergraduate Degree I chose to study certainly did not disappoint. The diverse and interesting range of subjects I was able to learn have opened my eyes to a world that I was not aware really existed, both in reality and academically, and the passion of the lecturers teaching those subjects is always evident. Yes, it is incredibly hard work and there are times when it is extremely stressful (particularly around exam time!) but I can honestly say I have loved every second of my CCCU experience.
All the lecturers are approachable and helpful, always on hand for any support they can provide, and their obvious love of what they do motivates the students to learn more. Through a combination of my hard work and the support of the lecturers, I obtained a First Class Degree and have discovered that I love academia. I plan to continue my education to Masters and PhD level, and finally one day, to become a university lecturer myself. Thank you CCCU!
