After studying Global Politics at CCCU, I continued my studies and did a MA in Conflict Resolution in Divided Societies at King's College London. I then became an intern at the British Embassy in Bucharest, Romania for both Communications and Political teams and managed to secure a position covering a maternity leave within the Communications team. I now work in the Communications department of PwC Romania.

The skills I have acquired while studying Politics at CCCU have undoubtedly shaped and steered my professional life. The continuous support of the department staff, the teaching methods and materials and the thirst for knowledge that the lecturers have managed to transfer to us have been vital in my development. Critical thinking, research, communication skills and the ability to distinguish amid many details the most relevant ones – just the tip of the ice-berg of many aptitudes acquired under the close guidance of the department up at the Priory that have been very appreciated by my employers.

For an international student, who had to overcome cultural and linguistic differences while studying for the degree, the department was always supportive, understanding and engaging – and I am proud to have been asked to write about them as an Alumna. I have only the highest regards for the Politics Department – get in touch with them and you will understand why!
