The College of Policing offered a free workshop for Serving or Retired Police Officers and Police Staff to explain how they can use their service, experience and knowledge to access undergraduate and postgraduate degree courses at academic institutions and professional awarding bodies around the country.
Recognition of Prior Experience and Learning (RPL/RPEL) is a process that allows police officers and staff the opportunity to access academic credits for their experience and the learning/courses they have completed during their service. Credits will be dependent on individual course history and experience together with discussions with the academic institution/professional awarding body being applied to.
This unmissable event, led by the College of Policing with support from Canterbury Christ Church University (CCCU) provided a great opportunity to meet officers and staff who have benefitted first hand from RPL/RPEL and see how it has helped them in gaining academic and professional qualifications in order to assist in their development and thus improve policing.
