This film practice event for teachers from Kent schools. Develop your understanding of short films, screenwriting, and editing techniques.

Following the success of the Film Production conference with local schools in Kent, CCCU are offering a film practice event for teachers from Kent schools; come and explore filmmaking with the lecturers at CCCU and develop your understanding of short films, ideas for screenwriting, and creative editing techniques. Alongside these sessions you will also gain insight into the creative media industries.

This is aimed at film and media teachers who would like additional practical support with little or no budget.

Schedule

10:15 – Teas & coffees

10.30 – 12pm – Filmmaking strategies for Short Films (this will offer practical advice and tips for supporting filmmaking projects with low budget equipment).

12 – 1pm – Lunch + Tours 

1pm – 1.55 – Constructing an Effective Screen Story with screenwriting lecturer Charlie Tidmas.

2.05 – 3pm – Creativity with Editing (building on the morning session you will now explore additional creative techniques with accessible editing software in Pf05, one of our computer suites).

3.10pm – 3.30pm – Summary discussions and networking

Additional information

Please bring along your smart mobile phone and a charger. You will also need appropriate footwear and clothing for moving around both inside and outside.

Tea and coffee will be provided on arrival but please bring your own lunch or feel free to make use of the various food outlets on campus which take both cash and card payments
