In this fast-paced one-hour masterclass with an academic and/or ambassadors, students will critically examine the content and context of Geoffrey Chaucer’s Prologue to the Canterbury Tales. Students’ will deepen their understanding of 14^th century literature in four stages. Firstly, through an examination of language and life in 14th century England; secondly through an exploration of the importance of universal themes of spring, renewal and hope; they will explore the creative spelling of Middle English before finally developing their understanding of the wider context of the pilgrims.
