Mrs Vicky Lander

Academic Sessional

School of Nursing

Vicky is a Senior Lecturer and the Deputy Course Director for Child Nursing within the School of Nursing, Midwifery and Social Care.

I qualified as a nurse in 2003. I worked clinically in NICU until 2008, obtaining a BSc during this time. During my time in the NICU I became a clinical educator, which is where my passion for Education developed. Moving to work in Higher Education in 2017 at Canterbury Christ Church University, I completed an MA Ed since working at the university. I am Module Leader for Pre-registration and post-registration modules, as well as deputy Course Director for Child Nursing.

I have worked in Higher Education for 6 years. During this time, my teaching has centred around Pre and post-registration nurse education with a speciality in Neonatal intensive care and Child Nursing.

My research interests include looking at the benefits of simulation to bridge the theory-practice gap to enhance student nurses’ knowledge and skills.

I am an external examiner at Wolverhampton University for Child Nursing and core modules.
