I hold a BSc Adult Nursing from Plymouth University, and joined the NMC register as a Registered Nurse in 2018. Since qualifying, I have worked across a range of clinical settings, primarily within Acute Medicine and Cardiology (including Coronary Care, cardiac wards and Cardiac Catheter Labs). I held a Junior Charge Nurse post in a Community Rehabilitation Ward and then a Clinical Lead post managing an Acute Medical ward in the Bristol Royal Infirmary.
I also hold a BA (Hons) English from Nottingham Trent University, and a PG Certificate in Advanced Clinical Practice from the University of West of England. I completed the NHS Leadership Academy's Edward Jenner Programme in 2020.
I hold Associate Fellowship with Advance Higher Education, and am currently undertaking a MSc Education.
My main areas of interest are clinical science, acute medicine and clinical simulation. I have a specialist interest in cardiac education, in particular cardiovascular disease and acute circulatory failure.
As a Lecturer in Adult Nursing at Canterbury Christ Church University, I am immensely proud of the impact that I have on improving the quality of patient care through providing high-quality education to our future nursing workforce. As a compassionate and authentic leader I consistently aim to ensure that my students receive appropriate support to succeed in their studies and future careers.
