Dr Trish Joscelyne

Clinical and Academic Tutor

School of Psychology and Life Sciences

I'm a clinical psychologist specialising in Children and Families, and an academic and clinical tutor at the Salomons Institute for Applied Psychology.

I graduated from the University of Sussex in 1985 with a degree in experimental psychology and followed this with a PGCE in primary education. I then went on to study for a Ph.D. in experimental psychology at Sussex. Following re-training as a Clinicial Psychologist, I worked locally from 1999 to 2018 in a CAMHS team.

My clinical work is with children and families and my main clinical model is systemic. I take a lead on the child and family unit on the Salomon's course and also lead on the Lifespan Development Unit. I am also working with Louise Goodbody to establish jiont accreditation for our trainees in Foundation in Systemic theory and practice.

I am lead for the programme on the Child and Family and Lifespan Units, but also help convene the systemic strand in the third year. I am also joint lead on the Foundation in systemic theory and practice.

I have an interest in most areas associated with Child and Adolescent Mental Health particularly the role of schools in fostering resilience.

I am currently involved in joint project with Meadows School in Southborough looking at the effect of schools on developing resilience for young people with problems in emotion and behaviour.
