I am a Lead Mentor with the Secondary ITE team, training and supporting mentors in schools. I am the ITAP 2 Lead for both PGCE and School Based pathways.

I am a Lead Mentor with the Secondary Initial Teacher Education team, training and supporting Subject and Professional Mentors in schools. This role includes regular meetings with Professional Mentors to Quality Assuring the mentor provision that students receive on the PGCE and School Based pathways; Recruitment events and student interviews, as well as producing and presenting Induction sessions to student teachers and their mentors. 

I have taught in National and International schools for over thirty years in both Middle and Senior Leadership positions. I graduated from University of London with a BA Hons in History and Sociology and completed a PGCE at the University of Leicester in History. Whilst overseas I complete an MA in Education with the Open University and was fortunate enough to be a part of the development team for the IB Middle Years Programme at its gestation. On returning to the UK via the Middle East, I settled in Kent and continued with my passion for learning and ITE, spending the last ten years of my school career as a Professional Mentor in a local Teaching school, undertook an MA module in Coaching and Mentoring at CCCU, and played a pivotal role in the establishment and development of the Teaching and Learning programme for the Shepway Teaching Alliance.

My research interests are quite diverse from Gender and Equality in Education to the role of Cognitive Science in Teaching and Learning

I am a member of the Chartered College of Teaching and Historical Association; I have also been a Vice –Chair of Governors for one of my local Primary schools.
