Mr Tim Jackson

Senior Lecturer in Computing

School of Engineering, Technology and Design

I am currently a Senior Lecturer in Computing and Course Director of Software Engineering at the School of Engineering Technology and Design at CCCU.

As a Senior Lecturer and Course Director in Computing at CCCU, I am involved in teaching both undergraduate and postgraduate courses from Level 4 through to Level 7. Although my own studies centred around Data Networks Engineering, one of my key areas of interest is primarily the development, implementation, and use of XR and Immersive Technologies within education, training, and research.

With a colleague, I am leading on the development and implementation of the University’s XR and Immersive Technologies Strategy which falls in line with CCCU’s Vision 2030 Framework. Although initially concentrating on Virtual Reality (VR) technologies, additional areas of research and development include AR, MR, and Photogrammetry, to enhance the student experience within their studies.

Outline of teaching modules taught and developed at CCCU:

  • Information Security Management – Level 7 (Module Leader)
  • Project and Professional Skills – Level 5 (Module Leader)
  • Advanced Operating Systems – Level 6
  • Human Computer Interactions (HCI) – Level 6
  • Programming Design and Development – Level 4
