Senior Lecturer in Adult Nursing

Thomas is a Senior Lecturer teaching acute nursing care and professional development. His research interests are epidemiology and clinical governance.

I qualified with a DipHE in Adult Nursing, but also hold a BSc (Hons) Adult Nursing, an MSc Advanced Emergency Care and a Post Graduate Certificate in Academic Practice.

I am a Certified Expert Witness (Civil Law) and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.

As part of my clinical career, I worked in multiple A&E departments in the Greater London Area. I held the Advanced Life Support (ALS) and Advanced Trauma Nursing Course (ATNC) certificates.

As Senior Lecturer in Adult Nursing, I am the module lead of Adult Group Clinical Supervision and Professional Development (year 2) on the BSc (Hons) Adult Nursing and Clinical Science (years 1 and 2) on the MSc Nursing (Adult or Mental Health) as well as the Foundation Degree Nursing Associate (FDNA).

I am part of the teaching team on the MSc Nursing Clinical Science module, the BSc (Hons) Adult Nursing modules Evidence Based Nursing Care, Caring for the Person with Complex Needs and Care Of the Deteriorating Patient as well as the FDNA Clinical Science module. Furthermore, I am part of the simulation team on the MSc, BSc (Hons) and FDNA programme.

As an MSc dissertation supervisor, I work with students on multiple research projects.

I am passionate about the continuous development of patient care. In 2021, I published my work on 'Improving the Treatment of Patients with Dual Diagnosis in Emergency Departments'.
