Miss Susanna Mitchell

Lecturer in Policing

School of Law, Policing and Social Sciences

I am a part time lecturer in policing, and teach across the Criminal Investigation and Professional Policing Programmes.

I am module leader on the crime and science module, the criminal justice system and how to tell what works module, and the rape and domestic abuse module. I am also the employability lead for Policing.

On the days that I'm not teaching I am a Senior Crown Prosecutor for the Crown Prosecution Service where I work on the rape and serious sexual offences unit.

I am also in the process of completing my PhD, and my research interests relate to vulnerability within the criminal justice system.

In addition to my teaching responsibilities I am still a practicing solicitor and work on the rape and serious sexual offences unit for the crown prosecution service.

I am currenltly completing my PhD, which focuses on the way that the police gather evidence from child victims of sexual abuse. I contribute towards the Blackstones policing handbook.
