Soumya Kanti Manna

Dr Soumya Manna

& Research Supervisor

I am currently a Senior Lecturer and Course Director of Biomedical Engineering at the School of Engineering Technology and Design at CCCU

As well as being a Senior Lecturer at CCCU, I am also partially involved in teaching medical students at Kent and Medway Medical School. I completed my PhD in Medical Robotics and my research interest lies primarily in the areas of designing medical equipment such as wearable exoskeletons for assistance and rehabilitation, sensor deployment for gait analysis and IoT-based biomedical applications. My PhD was on designing and developing Elbow exoskeleton mechanism for multistage poststroke rehabilitation. I have been leading in designing and teaching range of modules including Mechatronics, Mathematics and Computing, Robot Kinematics and Dynamic, Biological Medical Science etc. My parallel areas of interest are microcontroller-based electronic systems and sensor-based automation in the industrial sector.

I was in academic lecturer position in reputed engineering colleges and universities in India for almost three years. He was also engaged with entrepreneur activities in India and his venture was well recognised and rewarded by the Govt. authorities.
