I am The Admissions Director on the Doctoral Training Programme in Clinical Psychology, run by the Salomons Institute for Applied Psychology.

I joined the staff team of the Doctorate in Clinical Psychology in 2014 as a Clinical and Academic Tutor and became the Admissions Director in 2021. 

I qualified as a clinical psychologist in 2006, and subsequently completed a Post Graduate Diploma in CBT for psychosis in 2009.

I am registered as a Clinical Psychologist with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and I am a member of the Division of Clinical Psychology and wider British Psychological Society.

Prior to taking up the post at Canterbury Christ Church University, I worked as a clinical psychologist in forensic mental health settings and acute inpatient wards in the NHS.

My current job role as Admissions Director on the Doctorate in Clinical Psychology includes leading on the selection of our new cohorts of trainee clinical psychologists, teaching, supervision of trainees’ doctoral research and supporting trainees 1:1 as they progress through their clinical training.

I have completed additional training in teaching in Higher Education, and I am now an Associate Fellow with the HEA (Higher Education Academy).

I currently organize the ‘Adult Mental Health’ teaching in the first year of the 3-year doctorate in Clinical Psychology training course.

In terms of examining, my role involves the examination of trainees’ Major Research Projects and other assignments including ‘The Assessment of Clinical Skills’ which trainees complete in their first year of training.

My research interests include Professional boundaries in clinical practice, forensic mental health and psychosis.

I am involved in the supervision of clinical psychology trainees' Major Research Projects (MRPs).

I am currently an External Examiner on the Clinical Psychology Training Course at the University College London (UCL).
