School of Nursing

Nicole is the Associate Head for Practice Learning, Simulation and Immersive Technology.

Qualifying as an Adult Nurse in 2007, I have continued my education within the field. I have worked in both the Acute and Community settings and completed further training to become a Specialist Community Public Health Nurse. My specialist interest in practice was Sexual Health.

I have held various positions in academia such as Course Director, Cohort Leader, Social Media Lead and Module Leader, and have been working as a Senior Lecturer across numerous programmes since 2015. I have completed the Post Graduate Certificate in Academic Practice (PGCAP) and a Masters in Health and Wellbeing (MSc). I am progressing through an Educational Doctorate (EdD) and have achieved Senior Fellowship with Advance HE. I am also a proud member of the Aurora community.

More recently I have progressed into the role of Associate Head of Practice Learning, Simulation and Technology. This role includes the strategic planning and implementation of practice learning, simulation-based learning and immersive technology across all nursing programmes.

I am an External Examiner and Advisor for a number of UK HEIs.
