Dr Nabila Naz

Lecturer & Research Supervisor

School of Engineering, Technology and Design.

I am an Engineering Lecturer with research interests in soft robots, machine learning, and computational analysis for engineering applications.

I joined CCCU in 2023 as a Lecturer in Engineering. Prior to this, I worked as a Teaching Fellow in Engineering at the University of Kent and Queen Mary University of London. I also served as an Assistant Professor and Lecturer at the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology. My teaching experience includes modules in Engineering Design, Automated Manufacturing, Computational Fluid Dynamics, and Finite Element Analysis.

My current research focuses on the design, manufacture, and machine learning modelling of soft robots for dexterous hand manipulation. My previous research projects involved numerical simulations of droplet sorting in microfluidic environments, as well as the design, manufacture, hydrodynamic, and structural analysis of marine vessels. The outcomes of my research have been published in reputable conferences and journals.

I currently serve as a reviewer for the Physics of Fluids journal and the IEEE RoboSoft conference. I am a member of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (MIET) and actively participate in STEM outreach activities to encourage students to pursue STEM courses.
