Matt is a Senior Lecturer within the School of Nursing.

Qualifications: BA (Hons), RN, DPSN, PGCLT, FHEA

My background is in Palliative Care and HIV/AIDS, having worked in the UK and also in Africa and South America. I am currently Elective Placement lead for the school of Nursing, Module Lead of Critical Review of Practice (BSc Adult Nursing) and Wellbeing Across the Lifespan, (RNDA and FDNA).

I have worked at CCCU since 2012. I currently teach across the Adult Nursing curriculum and support teaching in the RNDA and FDNA courses. Prior to working at CCCU, I was the Education Manager at the Heart of Kent Hospice.

I participated in a collaborative research project around factors for late diagnosis of HIV, which was funded by the EU IMPRESS program. I also participated in the National "Six Steps to Success" program, providing End of Life Care training and development with care homes.

I undertook an Action Research study on the use of WIKIs within an Interprofessional Education program within the University.

Furthermore, I co-authored The IMpress research study on factors leading to late diagnosis of HIV, as well as an evaluative report on the "Six Steps to Success" program.

I coordinated the 6 Steps to Success Project with Care Homes in the Maidstone area- training staff on End of Life Care and coordination. I was involved collaboratively with several organisations in Kent in designing and online training platform around Advance Care Planning for people at the end of life.

I was commissioned by Kent Community Health Trust to deliver End Of Life Care training for their Community Nurses.
