Mr Mark Evans

Senior Lecturer

School of Teacher Education

Based in the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Education

Prior to joining CCCU I held middle & senior leadership positions in local schools in Kent, most recently Faversham.

Within the University I work across most of our initial teacher education programmes, including PGCE FT/Flexi, BA FT/PT & School Direct. I am a PAT tutor for BA Yr3 and for PGCE FT.

I am the Deputy Safeguard lead and Recruitment lead for the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Education. Within the Safeguarding remit, I hold operational responsibility for ensuring the development of effective Safeguarding training and development for our ITE students and respond to Safeguarding queries or concerns.

As recruitment lead I organise the Primary ITE interviews and processes, including partnership collaborations and staff development/training needs, where they pertain to recruitment.

My passions in teaching lay within Primary Computing and the opportunities this holds for wider impact on learning in primary schools. With this in mind, I have incorporated various elements of computing and computational thinking approaches in to my work, such as augmented reality. This remains a passion of mine.

My current research interests are the use of blended learning technologies to enhance outcomes and increase engagement. This is very prevalent at the moment, due to C19 and I am currently involved with small-scale research on the perceived impact that moving to online provision has had on our student teachers.
