Senior Lecturer Global Business, Course Director MSc International Business

I am a senior lecturer in Global Business. I have a multi-disciplinary background with a strong international focus. I graduated with BA(Hons) in Business and American Studies and completed my Masters Degree in International Relations. My doctorate is focused on wheelchair users and their experience of airline services.

I have worked in industry before returning to academia and joining CCCU in 2015.

My research areas of interest are disability accessibility and inclusion across a broad area of management and public policy.

I teach on the MBA/MSc International Business courses, and support other courses focused on management and leadership roles.

I also teach on research method courses, focusing on both traditional and novel approaches to research. I provide guest lectures on issues of Accessibility and Inclusion.

My teaching interests are wide and varied, but mostly people focused, whether that is management and leadership skills or public policy. Issues related to Public Health, Politics and the wider Economy are also of interest, both locally and globally.

Teaching Awards;

  • Nominated for Golden Apple Award (2018/19)
  • Nominated for Outstanding Contribution to Innovation as part of The Foundation Year Teaching Team (2021)
  • Nominated for a Golden Apple Award (2022-23)

My research is focused on disability accessibility in the field of tourism and specifically airline travel. I have approached my research through a netnographic transformative lens.

Having data mining Twitter for personal accounts and opinions of airline travel and interviewed members of the wheelchair using community, I have created a multi-item measurement scale of service quality from the perspective of the wheelchair using community, called AirAccessQual.
