I am a qualified Mental Health Nurse who has who has gained my degree from CCCU university. I have previously worked in a specialist ward for those with a diagnosis of dementia, and then moved into children and adolescent mental health services. It was here that I worked in a CBT informed way with young people with anxiety or depression, including those with neurodiversity. I also trained in a specialist therapeutic intervention known as Non-Violence Resistance for carers of young people with challenging behaviours. I have completed a post graduate diploma and hope to undertake a PhD in my chosen subject soon.
As Course Director, I undertake the task of supporting my team to teach their wealth of diverse clinical backgrounds to our diverse group of students. I have worked with my team to develop many simulated teaching sessions which we are exceptionally proud of and are working continuously to improve ensuring that students get a well rounded experience of practice in a safe simulated environment. I teach across a range of the modules and also teach on different courses, such as Child Nursing on many occasions. I look forward to developing the course and providing a safe, secure and innovative environment for students to learn and work together to complete their degrees to the best of their ability.
