Mr Kristian Tuppen

Lecturer in Occupational Therapy

School of Allied and Public Health Professions

Kristian is a Lecturer in Occupational Therapy. He is a Personal Academic Tutor and Module Lead who teaches across a variety of modules.

I am a Lecturer in Occupational Therapy at Canterbury Christ Church University. My responsibilities include teaching across all undergraduate and apprentice Occupational Therapy cohorts, acting as module lead for two modules, and supporting our newest apprentice cohort as their Personal Academic Tutor. I am Deputy Placements Lead, primarily involved in the pastoral support of students on placement and a member of the Faculty Experts by Experience committee. My primary clinical expertise is in Older Adult mental health, having worked in community and in-patient settings. I have a particular interest in reflective practice, assessments of daily living, and the role of occupational therapy in dementia diagnosis.

I teach across all levels of the Undergraduate and Apprentice programmes at CCCU.

I am interested in the use of ADL assessments to inform diagnosis (particularly around dementia) , and also in the assessment of mental capacity.
