As a Senior Lecturer in Physiotherapy, my high-quality practice experience as a Chartered Physiotherapist enables me to deliver general and specialist knowledge, and skills, to students at all HE levels. I use different learning and teaching methods, sensitive to different cultures, and students’ ways of learning. Although for the majority of the time I teach the Physiotherapy students, interprofessional education is a key part of our learning and teaching approach at Canterbury Christ Church University and I therefore teach students from other professions. Using contemporary evidence, I prepare students for future clinical practice which supports embedding research into practice for patient benefit.
I have a clinical interest in specialising in musculoskeletal physiotherapy, hence graduating in 2012 with my MSc in Orthopaedic Medicine and having 12 years post-graduation experience within this field. As physiotherapy is a progressive and ever-changing profession, I remain committed to the provision of clinical excellence by enhancing my qualifications with continued learning and membership of relevant clinical interest groups to remain informed of clinical developments within my speciality. I also remain abreast of current policies within the NHS.
