I joined CCCU in Oct 2021 and I am a health psychologist researcher. I have a background in the adaptation and management of chronic conditions, treatment choices, health interventions and in recent years patient and public involvement (PPI) in research.

I joined the School of Engineering, Technology & Design for 1/2 day per week in Mar 2022. This is as a collaborator, leading on patient and public involvement, on an NHSX funded clinical trial looking at the role of Artificial Intelligence in the early detection of lung cancer.

I am a registered Stage 2 Supervisor for Health Psychology

  • Real-world testing of an AI autonomous algorithm to rule-out normal chest X-ray exams and to fast track the diagnosis of those suspected lung cancer patients, with same-day CT. Researcher(s): Dr Julie Hedayioglu. [Project]

Within the NHS, I work for one of the largest providers of community health care, Kent Community NHS Foundation Trust. In this role, I advise and collaborate with clinical colleagues on health research and evaluation ideas and lead initiatives such as the NIHR Public Research Champions, to embed PPI in NHS health research and evaluation. Recently, I have worked on two local evaluations, the first looking at the Nursing Associate role, and secondly, I jointly secured local funding, with a local volunteer to evaluate the Research Ambassador Role, the predecessor to the NIHR Public Research Champions.
