Mr John Tidmas

Senior Lecturer in Diagnostic Radiography

School of Allied and Public Health Professions

John is a Senior Lecturer in Diagnostic Imaging.

My qualifications include a BSc (Hons) in Diagnostic Radiography, a BSc in Medical Sciences, PgC in Clinical Reporting (Adult Chest) and an additional postgraduate module, completed at CCCU, in abdominal radiograph interpretation.

I am the pathway lead for the PgC in Clinical Reporting (Adult Chest), standalone abdomen reporting module and preliminary clinical evaluation short courses. In addition to this provision, I also contribute to the educational provision of the Diagnostic Radiography BSc, personal academic tutor and link tutor, and have a passion for teaching biomedical sciences. I am the chair of the Faculty of Medicine, Health and Social Care Exceptional Circumstances Committee.

I am an HCPC-registered diagnostic radiographer, with 20 years experience working in imaging departments within the NHS. I continue to work clinically one day per week and perform clinical reporting and a leadership role within my local community hospital radiology department.

I have always had a passion for facilitating learning and have done so in many roles in the past. CCCU is my first formal teaching post and I have been awarded fellowship of the Higher Education Academy. Previously, I was awarded the Golden Apple award from the Students' Union for Most Engaging Teaching for the academic year 2021/22.
