School of Psychology and Life Sciences

I am a university instructor in the School of Psychology.

I joined Canterbury Christ Church University in 2013 as a sessional lecturer at Business School where I taught Psychology of People, Management and Leadership and Business Ethics.

Since 2021 I have been a university instructor in the School of Psychology. I teach different modules at the undergraduate level.

I am also a PhD student exploring the intersection of social class and motherhood.

I have taught several modules on the undergraduate level:

  • Social and Developmental Psychology
  • Brain, Mind and Behaviour
  • Graduate Attributes in Psychology
  • Research Methods.

I also convene level 5 module: Graduate Attributes for Work.   

I have a strong interest in critical social psychology, and in particular, the feminist perspective. I am passionate about research relating to power relationships in society, gender roles, intersectionality, motherhood and social constructionism.

In my recent master's thesis, I conducted an interpretative phenomenological analysis and studied lived experiences of working mums with young children. My PhD, supervised by Dr Anke Franz, aims to build on my findings and investigate societal expectations, social injustice and gender inequality experienced by underprivileged working mums.
