I joined CCCU in 2000. I am a Reader in the Geography of Tourism and I teach across a range of subjects in the Business School.

I have been at CCCU for over 2 decades.

I have a PhD from the University of Birmingham, and other degrees from Birmingham and Coventry. I have served on the Academic Board at CCCU and also as chair of the local union branch.

I have worked with a number of universities, in the UK and abroad, as an external examiner.

I teach across a range of subjects including: research methods; economics; and social and cultural issues relating to tourism, events and hospitality.

My research focuses on political and cultural issues relating to mass tourism.

I have written 3 books and edited a couple more looking at political and social issues relating to tourism.

I have also written widely in academic journals and in a range of other media.

I am working on a number of projects examining the prospects for tourism post Covid-19.
