Reverend Dr Jeremy Law

The Reverend Dr Jeremy Law was born in Wales and brought up in Dorset. After a geology degree at Aberystwyth and postgraduate research in geology at Leeds University, Jeremy trained for the Church of England ministry at Salisbury and Wells Theological College. As part of his training he completed a theology degree via Southampton University.

Following a curacy at Wimborne Minster, he undertook doctoral research at Oxford University examining the relationship between christology and eschatology in the work of Jürgen Moltmann. In 1994 he became Lazenby Chaplain at Exeter University, where he was also a part-time lecturer in theology, before becoming Dean of Chapel at Canterbury Christ Church in 2003. This summer (2016) he will complete twenty two years as a university chaplain.

His research interests and recent publications have included work on the theology of human evolution, the ecological interpretation of theology, a theology of boundary that seeks to link together the being of God and the origin of life, and an essay on theological imagination. He has also written on the purpose of Higher Education.

Jeremy is a keen cyclist and bass player and recently became a grandad.
