Mrs Gemma Tonkinsmith

I am a Registered Nurse with a background in community nursing, social care and complex care. I am a Senior Lecturer in Practice Learning, and am the Subject Lead for Placements within the School of Nursing. I work closely with our placement providers from large NHS trusts, to primary care and small independent teams. Our aim to provide effective positive placement experiences for our students, introducing them to the evolving health and social care landscape and the many varied roles nursing can offer. This requires a creative collaborative approach with placement providers, course teams, students, and other universities.
