Dr Dele Babalola

I joined CCCU in 2020 and I am a Senior Lecturer in Politics and International Relations.

Prior to joining CCCU in 2020, I was a Senior Lecturer at Baze University, Abuja, Nigeria. I also taught at University of Kent in Canterbury, UK.

I hold a PhD in Politics and Government, and a Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education (PGCHE) from the University of Kent, UK, an MPhil in West African Studies from the University of Birmingham, UK, an MSc in Research Methods in the Social Sciences from London South Bank University, UK, and a BSc in Political Science from Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Nigeria.

I am a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. I won the Canterbury Christ Church Award for outstanding contribution to the student experience (2021/2022).

In 2022-23 I will lead the following modules:

Level 5: Theories of International Relations

Level 7: Security in the Digital Age

Peer Reviews I regularly review articles for the following academic journals:

Ethnicities; The Journal of Modern African Studies; SAGE Open; Journal of International Relations and Development; Ethnopolitics; Journal of Contemporary African Studies; and Journal of Asian and African Studies.

I consult for a number of notable international non-governmental organisations on security and other related issues in Nigeria. I have also advised a number of state governments in Nigeria on issues related to inter-governmental relations, and corruption, among others.
