Danny Rhodes - Course Director BA (Hons) Creative & Professional Writing

Danny is currently module lead and tutor on the Foundation Year module 'The Write Stuff', Level 4 modules 'Non-Fiction', 'Contextual Studies' and 'Poetry, Drama, Fiction 1' and Level 5/6 modules 'The Novel', 'Science-Fiction, Fantasy and Horror' and 'Professional Practice 2'. He also lectures on the MA in Creative Writing and runs the 'Writing Comes Alive' programme. 

Danny taught as a Sessional member of staff for a number of years before joining CCCU on a permanent basis in 2016. Previous to this Danny was Head of English in a large Secondary School in Kent.

Danny is the author of the contemporary novels 'Asboville' (2006), 'Soldier Boy' (2009) and 'FAN' (2014). He is currently seeking a publisher for his latest novel, 'KID'.

Danny also writes short fiction and has published over 30 stories in magazines and anthologies in the UK and the USA. In 2021 his short story 'Toadstone' was shortlisted for the prestigious BBC Short Story Award.

Danny is a member of the Society of Authors.
