I am the manager of SportsLab (CCCU's sport science consultancy unit) and also Director of Business Development in the School of Psychology & Life Sciences.

I graduated from Canterbury Christ Church University with both a BSc (Hons) and an MSc in Sport & Exercise Science. I am the manager of SportsLab which provides a range of professional services offered to athletes and aspiring athletes, who perform either individually, or as part of a team.

The service additionally conducts performance-based research and provides local schools and colleges the chance to experience a range of sport science support including laboratory and field-based testing. Students on Sport related courses get the opportunity to work with SportsLab to gain industry level experience.

I have over 15 years’ experience working in laboratories and leading a team of technicians and sport science support providers.

My main area of interest is laboratory-based fitness testing and I have delivered services to professional runners, triathletes, cyclists and to a variety of sporting clubs including football, rugby, basketball and hockey.

As Director of Business Development in the School of Psychology & Life Sciences I lead the schools recruitment strategy and external consultancy work in the Section of Sport, Exercise & Rehabilitation Sciences.

I am a senior lecturer in Sport & Exercise Physiology. During my time as a lecturer, I have taught in a range of areas including physiology, sport psychology, and biomechanics at an undergraduate level and have also instructed diverse practical sessions in related areas.

I am module lead for Sport, Exercise & Fitness which is a level 4 module that explores the nature of sport and exercise training for fitness through theoretical and practical experience.

My main expertise in the research arena relates to facilitating the research process particularly with the application of technical solutions and the development of complex methodologies.

Over the years I have played a supporting role in the execution of a vast array of undergraduate and postgraduate research, some of which has been multiple award winning.
