I am a Principal Lecturer in Human Geography and Senior Tutor for the Natural and Applied Sciences section of the School.

I joined CCCU in January 1996.

I completed my PhD from the University of Sheffield on the Economy of Cities later that year and have continued to do research in this area ever since.  I also hold an MA in Geography from the University of Calgary and a BA (Hons) from University College Dublin.

As well as teaching on the Geography and Wildlife Ecology and Conservation degrees I have also lectured on Economics in the Business School.  I was Vice President of the International Geographical Union (IGU) Urban Commission from 2012-2020.

My research interests in economies and cities continues with a particular interest in the measurement of spatial change.
