Mrs Christine Wright

Senior Lecturer

School of Nursing

Christine qualified as an Adult Nurse in 2006 and has had a variety of specialist roles in practice before joining the academic world.

My area of expertise and focus in the clinical environment was Stroke. I was a Specialist Stroke Nurse across the West Kent Trusts. I also ran a clinic for patients with headaches and migraines as Specialist Headache Nurse. During my time in practice, I began working as a Sessional Lecturer for CCCU which led to moving to Academia full time in 2016. Since starting full time at CCCU, I have gained the title of Senior Lecturer. I completed my Independent Prescribing Qualification in 2011 and my Post Graduate in Academic Practice in 2018. I am a Module Leader and a Mentor.

My areas of teaching are based on the foundations of holistic nursing, seeing the patient as a whole rather than their individual issues. I teach on the undergraduate programme and the Nursing Associate programme.

I have achieved the post graduate certificate in academic practice and am a fellow of the higher education academy. My first degree is in Psychology.

I have been successful in publishing two articles with colleagues. The first of these articles is entitled “Developing an embedded Nursing service within a homeless shelter: Client’s perspective”. This was published in the International Journal of Environmental Research and Public health.  The second article is "Do registered nurses have the skills/tools to appropriately assess student nurses in the taking and interpretation of Electrocardiograms”. This was published in the British Journal of Cardiac Nursing.

I am an external examiner for the Nursing Associate Programme at University of Bolton. Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
