Dr Anwesa Chatterjee

I work as a Researcher in the School of Law, Policing and Social Sciences

I have been working at CCCU for over 5 years and my primary role is to provide comprehensive research support to staff members, utilizing both quantitative and qualitative methods. In addition to research support, I also deliver lectures in my areas of specialization which include, research methods, race and ethnic relations, decolonization, and medical sociology.

My academic background includes a PhD in Sociology from the University of Miami, USA, with concentrations in Medical Sociology and Race & Ethnic Relations. Prior to joining CCCU, I held a position as the Sociology Discipline Lead at the University of Exeter Medical School in the UK.

I deliver sessions in research methods across a range of disciplines and am currently module lead for the Level 6 module Colonial Worlds: Decolonial Sociology.

In my research role, I am actively involved in all aspects of the research process, from design to dissemination of findings. I have co-authored articles, books, and presented at conferences with my team members.

My areas of research interest lie primarily in the fields of health, education, and race/ethnic relations, where I strive to make meaningful contributions to the current body of knowledge.
