Dr Annie Deakin

Senior Lecturer in languages and applied linguistics. Course Director of Contemporary Language Studies. Based in the Centre for Language & Linguistics.

I am presently teaching Research Methods in Language and Communication; Language, Society & Power and I am the Course director and main lecturer for French and Spanish.

I have been a lecturer in the Centre for Language and Linguistics since 2007 teaching both French and applied linguistics. Previously, I was a Lecturer at Imperial College in French language and culture (2002-2007).

I hold a PhD in applied linguistics on familial multilingualism and my areas of research interests are multilingualism in society, multilingualism and emotions, cultural memories of language and post-memory.
